Invasion of the Sandman

Pictures are worth more than words on this one!!

And two very short movies. We spent a long time doing this..........

Noah at the Fort!

We couldn 't spend every minute at the beach, so Thursday morning we got in the car and drove of Old San Juan. Probably the most fun of the day was riding the tram up to El Moro. Noah called this Toby the Tram and he took us all the way up the hill. He loved the ride, but then Toby deserted us and never came back!! It was really hot and we had to do alot of walking.

But once up the hill we walked all through the fort. Noah knows "this is where Poppy used to work". And in case anyone was worried, Noah made sure the fort was well protected. He checked out every nook and cranny
And when we had had enough, Noah just decided it was time to close the doors to the fort. "EVERYONE OUT!"

Once Noah had the fort all closed up, we went for a very long walk as Toby the Tram never came back for us. We walked down the hill and ended up at El Convento...it is an old convent in the center of Old San Juan that is now a hotel, and we had a wonderful lunch in a cool, outdoor courtyard. We got postcards there, and they were so nice to Noah, they gave him a kite to fly once we got back to the beach.

That night we needed to go somewhere different, so went to El Conquestidor for dinner. Noah had lots of good stories to tell that night. Dinner was fun...but the most fun (if you ask Noah) was going up and down the Funicular (I don't even know how to spell it, but Noah knows what a Funicular is!). Unfortunately, none of those pictures came out...it was much too dark.

The next morning it was back to the beach as you can see.

Over the week Noah became more and more fearless...and FASTER! It was hard to catch up with him!

Check out Noah's next blog soon......for "Invasion of the Sandman"!

On and off the beach

We couldn't spend every minute at the beach, and we had a great room at the Ocean Villas to spend time when needed. This was the view from the balcony.

What a great place to have a picnic for lunch!
You can see from these pictures that not only is Noah growing up by the day, but he is "Mr Independent". Here we got all dressed up for dinner....

He didn't mind having his picture taken sometimes, but often he insisted on having it taken by himself! Here we were waiting for Billy Bus outside the hotel, looking for Coqui's.He didn't mind having his picture taken, but "mommy...you sit over there!"

And you may all remember how Noah was obsessed with Cars and had the DVD case in every picture. Well now if you look above you'll notice we don't go anywhere without either Thomas the Tank Engine or his friends. Noah knows them all by name and color and number!

Sometimes we got Noah to sit long enough to take a family photo. And on the particular night, Noah was just so good at dinner, we had to stop on the way back for an ice cream treat! But after a long day at the beach, a big dinner, and ice cream, this was about the only night Noah was sleepier than David. Look how tired he looks.... Well, the next day it was back to the beach. The weather was great, but the pictures look dark because it is late in the day. Here it is after nap time and it is getting dark early. We stayed on the beach most days til til after sunset.... Look what we made.Hi Noah! The next day we were off to the fort of El Moro. Noah went to work as soon as we got there. Check out the next blog!

Puerto Rico 08

We just got back from Puerto Rico. We stayed at the Wyndam Rio Mar Ocean Villas, and had a ball. The weather was perfect, and Noah just loved everything.

Some of the most fun things he did:
  • Flying on Jeremy Jet Plane to Puerto Rico.
  • Swimming in the ocean, getting splashed by the waves, and rolling around in the sand.
  • Jumping into the pool.
  • I push button (elevator). He loved going up and down any elevator!
  • Riding on Billy Bus. This we decided was Bertie Bus' cousin (a friend of Thomas the Tank Engine). Billy drove around the resort taking you back and forth to the hotel, golf course, etc..
  • Taking Toby Tram up to El Moro. But Toby deserted us and never came back!
  • Riding Tiny Toby from the parking lot at El Conquestidor to the hotel. (Tiny toby was a 4 row golf cart. We sat in the very back and held on tight (very very tight!)
  • Riding the funicular up and down at El Conqustidor.
The first day we got there, we put Noah down on the sand, and "whoosh......", off he ran, right to the water! He just loved the ocean. Not sure if he was going in or coming out, but he was fearless! We dug alot of holes in the sand, and made lots of castles and tunnels. They were great to splash in, and jump in. Noah loved jumping in and landing on his tush to make a splash! Here he is, just waiting for the next wave to come splash him in the face--we weren't so sure he would like that, but it made him laugh everytime. Check out this short movie:

And here comes a big one! (check out his form, knees up, toes pointed...)
We also had time to go for lots of walks. It was a 5 or 10 min walk to the main hotel. Hey guys...wait for daddy! The main hotel was fun. There were lots of activities, a kiddie pool (Noah had little interest), and a big pool with a water slide (you'll see a fun movie soon!). But every day at 11 am it was time to feed (yes, feed) the iguanas! And of course Noah was right in the middle of it. David had to go close with Noah most of the time since Kathy had red toe nail polish on. And we were told the Iguanas think red toes are cherries, and come to eat them! So she was watching from a distance, and seemed to enjoy the entire experience. Picture this: there is a crowd of 12 or 15 people all feeding the Iguanas, and all of the sudden Kathy yells (yes, yells) at David across the lawn: "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU???!!!!!). You decide for yourself. How fun is this?
Then Noah got right down to this guys eye level and said, completely unprompted, "What's your name?" He is the friendliest little guy!
After the Iguanas were full, and Noah talked to several of them, we were back to the pool. Noah has become a little fish, and loved playing in the pool with his Mom. "1, 2, 3, Jump..."!
And this was all in the first 2 days! We'll post more fun from Puerto Rico soon. Keep checking on us!
