Away from home

Well...David's writing this all on his own, with no editing from Kathy, and no input from Noah. So it is likely to have lots of errors, and be less exciting. But I'm "blogging" from Bethesda, and this is my first night away from Noah. Maybe he doesn't do too much yet, but I really miss him (and Kathy). Kathy tells me he's lifting and turning his head to look for his toys (she's moved them from side to side). I miss being there.

But I know Noah has good company. Kathy is with him, and he has Ellery Elephant looking out for him as well.

Noah is growing! He is 10.2 lbs as of last night before his bath! We got out the charts, and he's approaching the 50% mark. And we were worried he was so thin when he was born! Remember when you could barely see him sitting in his car seat???? He's almost ready to sit behind the wheel!
We think he's ALMOST ready to start smiling. His Grammy was visiting last week, and we couldn't be sure, but looks like a smile to us!

He's growing, almost smiling, and getting really smart and interactive. Wednesday, we watched the Yankees beat the Tigers. When Jeter hit a home run for his fifth hit, Noah turned to me and gave me double "taters" (you know...the modern day equivelent of the "high five") .

And Kathy's been walking him through Swarthmore college. Yesterday, she asked out loud, "who wants to go for a walk". I was busy, but Noah very politely just raised his hand.

The Yankees lost today, the Mets are winning, and Noah and his mommy, hopefully are sleeping soundly.

7 Weeks Old Today!

Noah is 7 weeks old. What a 7 weeks! We continue to be busy. And did we all have a busy weekend. Spent alot of time fixing up the Noah's room. We're still waiting for one last piece of furniture. Noah's furniture is made by a company called "Baby's Dream". The large chest of drawers we're waiting for has been backordered. When we called, since it was last known due in early October, we were told it's now back ordered til at least November...they told us "it comes from Chile, and it's hard getting shipments from Chile these days"....so much for "American made".

So we took to fixing up the rest of the room. Not only did we buy some shelves, we put them up ourselves...and they're sturdy.

Then we hung some pictures. Seems easy, but they had to be the right height, same distance from each other, and each was hung with 2 hooks....don't worry: they can't fall off and hit the baby on the changing table!

And we hung up his present from the Borges'/Delahanty's. Samantha and Benjamin have this in their room?

Everyone thinks Noah sleeps all day. He's been much more active, and has become quite a dancer. Here he's jiving to "Do Your Ears Hang Low"!

But then it's off for a ride on Daddy's shoulder on his way to bed....

But dancing and riding are tiring, and yes, Noah still sleeps alot......

When Noah talks....

Hello again! So much to fill everyone in on. It's been a while since we "blogged". It's been busy, and everyone here seems to be going to sleep earlier and earlier. But look for a few new blogs this week. We'll try to email some real pictures around as well.

Noah is growing like crazy. He's holding his head up a little more, more alert, and seems to really be looking at things. He loves watching Baby Einstein every morning. He sleeps good, though is on a schedule where he's WIDE awake at 3 AM and looking for someone to play with. You can imagine how that goes over in our house.

Believe it or not, he's talking already! We've been taking pictures the last few days, and we've been capturing comments he's been making. Thought we'd share some of them on this blog.

It started here:
"I know there's dinner in here somewhere!"

Then, "Look! It's Mr. Limpett"!

Yesterday, was a first. He not only figured out how to spell his name, he put this puzzle together all by himself! (Of course, he still needs some help standing up)

Here, daddy was trying to take his picture and he got very testy. He looked right over and shouted "What you looking at? Never saw anyone getting their daiper changed?!?"

Even thouth his eyes were closed in this picture, he just mumbled... "gee, my dad is just a barrel of laughs (snooze).

And the only thing he had to say here was "AHHHHHHHH" (look closer)

With that, he was pretty tired out as you can tell. He watched mommy and daddy decorate his room all day, and we'll show you all what it looks like later this week. He watched some football, but no Giants, and no Eagles, so he just had enough and drifted off to sleep. A few more blogs coming in the next few days! Love to all!
