Our Trip to the Zoo

One day this week, when we were all still on vacation, we all went to the zoo! What an adventure. Erin and her nephew, Noah's friend Brendan, came with us as well. We made sure all three little boys held hands so no one would get lost!

There were lots and lots of animals to see. We saw elephants and monkeys and gorillas and giraffs and lions.....and one of Noah's favorite, ssssnnnnakes........Unfortunately, Noah was less interested in seeing all the animals and more interested in running and trying to climb into the cages where there was water for all the animals! He has become fascinated by water...anywhere. Here we are at the Giraffs and they were surrounded by a moat...and Noah tried his best to go for a swim!And he wasn't so happy when we told him the water was only for the animals! He was a little hungry, and sad he couldn't go swimming....

But he now knows to tell you "It's OK" so you know there's nothing really wrong...Noah was just sad. Hey mom...it's ok.

And we had a little snack (Noah and David shared a pretzel), and we were all happier.And we had enough energy to chase a peacock and ride a bear!

But it was a long morning. There was alot of walking, and a little too much whining, and while Kathy has the patience of a saint, you can probably guess that by the end of the morning, David had had enough. You can see Noah and Brendan couldn't keep up with him trying to leave (that's David up ahead in the distance trying to find the way out!). But it was a fun adventure, Noah knows all the animals and the sounds they make, and hopefully we'll go back later in the summer. Maybe we'll even take a ride in the "Zoo Balloon"!
