Noah's First Hotel Trip

As anyone who is reading this knows, we are without power since 3 am friday, and am writing this from the Radnor Hotel in Wayne. It has been raining and blowing nonstop for at least 24 hours, remnants of hurricaine Ernesto. We were all up at 3 am when we saw a huge white light like lightening...then all of the sudden everything was dark...inside and out. turns out a tree across the street fell and brought down the wires, and all of our electricity went out. For us, no electricity means no water among other things.... so late morning we got our things together and went to Radnor Valley for breakfast/lunch. The weather was miserable and we were the only ones there (with 12 wait staff). From there Noah had his first trip to the mall! The weather was terrible and as you can imagine the mall was mobbed, but we kept him away from crowds, and went looking for furniture...Ethan Allen, Thomasville, and ultimately found a great little crib-side table at Pottery Barn Kids.

We carried Noah in his car seat all around since we have yet to unpack his stroller from the box. So as soon as we got home, David (arm aching from carrying the car seat) pulled the stroller out of the box. No tools, but lots of parts. The directions had 44 separate steps to put it together! But David put it together in the time it took Kathy to feed Noah. From there we pulled out Noah's new table, and like EVERYTHING else, this had to be put together! Bless electric screwdrivers! But it looks great in his room.....

Doesn't look like the electric company is going to fix the wires anytime soon. the house was getting dark, chilled, no water ,food, etc.., so we decided to get a room at the Radnor Hotel. So here we are, and Noah is loving it. The room is ok, and we're just showering, changing diapers and putting on makeup (not all of us are doing all of these things!) and going to go out to dinner. It's an adventure! Most of the clothes in the suitcase belong to the baby...blankets, jammies, onsies, diapers, more diapers....we're prepared for anything. And he can't wait to sleep in his crib (we brought our own sheets, pads, etc....!)

Even with all this adventure, Noah had no trouble with naps today (alot of you are probably jealous!)

So all in all, the little guy is happy, healthy (did we tell you that overnight he outgrew is Newborn diapers?!? amazing!), and despite no electricity was lucky enough to find time to cuddle with mommy!

Well, that's our adventure so far. Hopefully we can get back home tomorrow, and will have lots more to write. We'll be in touch soon....
